Bringing Stories, Characters, and Brands to Life Through Voice
I have been blessed to be able to use my voice to tell stories through song and the spoken word for over two decades. Growing up with a theatrical background, I obtained Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in music, also studying communication and diction along the way.
In addition to voiceover work, I have worked in professional film, theater, and I have been the music director of Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Virginia since 2012. I currently live in Mechanicsville, Virginia with my wife and son.
My Approach
I am meticulous about my process, ensuring you get the best possible finished product in terms of diction, pronunciation, and clarity of meaning behind the words. I accomplish this by:
Reading the entire manuscript first before recording anything. This enables me to see the message as a whole, which feeds into how it should sound from beginning to end. If there are characters that go on a journey throughout the story, this helps determine how characters should sound throughout the narrative.
Research and taking notes. These can be about what kind of voice I’d like to give characters, pronunciations, definitions, or if there is anything within the manuscript I need clarity on before recording.
Recording each section or chapter, fixing obvious mistakes as they happen. If there are any pronunciations of words I’m not certain about, I make sure I do my research.
Listening to my recording of each section to make sure everything sounds right. If there are any errors, or if I’m not 100% satisfied with how it sounds, I know you and your audience won’t be, so I make sure to fix it.
Once you receive a recording, if you would like anything changed, I will do so and make sure it lives up to your standards. After all, it is YOUR project, too!
